Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”) and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site. If you use the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.

Site status and product availability

The Site describes free resources, products in development, and possible future offerings. A status such as “coming soon,” a preview, or a development note is not an offer, delivery commitment, service-level agreement, or promise that a product will be released with any particular feature or on any particular date.

No paid product is currently offered for purchase through the Site. If paid products become available, the checkout page and product-specific terms presented before purchase will state the price, license, delivery method, support terms, and commercial terms that apply to that transaction.

Eligibility

You must be legally capable of agreeing to these Terms. The Site is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, use the Site only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Ownership and limited license

Studio Seventeen and its licensors retain all right, title, and interest in the Site, including its design, text, graphics, software, trademarks, and other content, except for material identified as belonging to another party or made available under a separate license.

Subject to these Terms, Studio Seventeen grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Site for lawful personal, educational, and internal business purposes. Separate open-source, course, download, or product license terms control where they are provided.

Acceptable use

You may not, and may not assist another person to:

• use the Site in violation of law, regulation, another person’s rights, or these Terms;
• interfere with, overload, disrupt, damage, or circumvent the Site or its security, rate limits, or access controls;
• introduce malware, malicious code, or automated requests that impose an unreasonable burden;
• attempt unauthorized access to systems, accounts, APIs, data, or non-public areas;
• misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or the source or approval status of Studio Seventeen content; or
• use Site content to violate intellectual-property, privacy, confidentiality, export-control, or other legal obligations.

Technical and educational information

Site content, field notes, examples, simulators, previews, and course materials are provided for general technical and educational purposes. They are not engineering, legal, safety, or other professional advice and are not a substitute for project-specific review by qualified personnel.

Industrial communications work can affect equipment, operations, cybersecurity, and personal safety. Before relying on Site content, independently verify addresses, function codes, units, scaling, byte and word order, write behavior, interlocks, vendor requirements, and site procedures. Do not use the Site as the sole basis for a safety-critical, production, compliance, or control decision.

Communications and feedback

If you submit an idea, correction, suggestion, or other feedback, you grant Studio Seventeen a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use, reproduce, modify, and incorporate that feedback without restriction or compensation. Do not send confidential, proprietary, export-controlled, or sensitive information unless Studio Seventeen has expressly agreed in writing to receive it.

Third-party services and links

The Site may link to or depend on third-party websites, specifications, repositories, products, and services. Studio Seventeen does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, or practices. Your use of a third-party service is governed by its own terms and policies.

Changes and availability

Studio Seventeen may modify, suspend, remove, or discontinue all or part of the Site or any unpaid feature at any time. The Site may be unavailable because of maintenance, provider failure, security response, or circumstances beyond reasonable control. No uninterrupted availability or preservation of public content is promised.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Site and all content and unpaid features are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. Studio Seventeen disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, security, and quiet enjoyment. Studio Seventeen does not warrant that the Site will be error-free, current, available, or suitable for your particular equipment, network, project, or use case.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Studio Seventeen and its owner, affiliates, contractors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, consequential, or punitive damages; loss of profits, revenue, data, use, goodwill, or business opportunity; or equipment, network, process, production, or safety impact arising out of or related to the Site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, their total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Site or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid directly through the Site during the 12 months before the event giving rise to liability or US$100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so part of this section may not apply to you.

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Studio Seventeen and its owner, affiliates, contractors, licensors, and service providers from claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your unlawful use of the Site, your material breach of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights.

Mandatory rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies a warranty, consumer guarantee, liability, remedy, or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified. Where a limitation is not enforceable, it applies only to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

General terms

These Terms and any policy incorporated by reference form the entire agreement concerning the Site, except for product-specific terms that expressly apply to a separate product or transaction. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Section headings are for convenience only.

Studio Seventeen may update these Terms prospectively. The updated date will change when revisions are published. Continued use after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
